Born and raised in South Africa, Emile de Witt's early years were enriched by frequent visits to wildlife reserves, where his profound love for nature and wildlife started. In his mid-twenties, he embarked on a new journey to London, UK, where he spent nearly nine years immersing himself in the rich tapestry of European culture and history. His travels across Europe during this time deepened his appreciation for the diverse beauty of urban life.

In 2022, Emile moved to New York City, a place where the pulse of urban life is as captivating as the natural world he holds dear. His artistic journey through London and New York revealed that cities, like people, have their own distinct character and voice and every city possesses a unique soul, shaped by its history, culture, architecture, and people. As a fine art photographer, he draws inspiration from these elements, striving to capture and convey the essence and spirit of each city through his lens.
