Monument Valley is a landscape defined by scale, distance, and light. Its towering sandstone formations rise above the open desert, creating a scene that feels both powerful and remarkably still.

I photographed this view as the sun was setting behind me. As the light changed, soft shades of blue, pink, and gold spread across the sky, creating subtle streaks of light above the warm red earth. The monuments stood against this changing backdrop, their shapes and textures bringing depth to the vast landscape.

What drew me to this moment was the contrast between the solid presence of the sandstone formations and the softness of the evening sky. Together, they capture something I find compelling about the American Southwest: a sense of space and grandeur that is difficult to appreciate until you experience it in person.
